Located just minutes from New York City, Scarsdale Golf Club is a full-service, family-focused Club which offers its members and guests world class service, facilities and amenities since 1898.

Scarsdale Golf Club's boasts an AW Tillinghast designed 18-hole golf course that has been a qualifying site for the US Open and Senior US Open. Additionally we feature a golf range, two practice greens, a short-game practice area, and a full-service Golf Pro Shop, Our course provides a challenge for all skill levels paired with a playability that offers the opportunity for maximum enjoyment.

SGC also features six Har-Tru tennis courts and a full-service Tennis Pro Shop. Platform Tennis (or Paddle Tennis) was invented and first played in Scarsdale, NY, so it's fitting that we offer a first-class paddle program. Our Paddle Facility features four heated and lit paddle courts and a warming hut perfect for fall and winter play. We also offer Pickleball and now are happy to offer year-round tennis in our brand new Tennis Bubble!

Our resort-style pool facility boasts a zero-entry wading pool with water feature, family pool deck, dining deck with gourmet snack bar and casual seating, "adults only" deck with pool bar and elegant locker room facilities.

Scarsdale is among only a handful of clubs that have bowling facilities and offer this as a winter sport. The facility features six automated bowling lanes and includes a small lounge area and bar. Member programs include a mix of open bowling and competitions for men, women and children. The bowling alley also offers a unique venue for social celebrations.

In 2012 we opened the doors to our 2,800 sq ft state-of-the-art Fitness Center that offers stunning golf course views and a full spectrum of state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment. The Fitness Center is available to members 7 days a week, year-round.

In addition to the many athletic pursuits available at SGC the hallmark of the club is the stunning, newly renovated clubhouse that hosts a multitude of formal and informal dining and social events for our active members and their guests. With an exceptional culinary team led by Chef Victor Zarate, the Clubhouse is the ideal venue for large family gatherings or intimate occasions.

Original Clubhouse

Founded in 1898, Scarsdale Golf Club is Westchester's second oldest golf course, with the original nine holes designed by Willie Dunn.

1900

Mr. Fox and His Caddies

C.A.W. "Carl" Fox, our first golf professional who also served as the greenskeeper, expanded the course to 18 holes in July of 1900.

Many of Scarsdale's most prominent citizens were among SGC's first members including the Burgess, Crane and Brewster families, seen here.

1909

In 1909 SGC's second clubhouse was built on top of the hill and became a full-service club offering bowling, tennis, squash and billiards. Unfortunately, in 1913 a fire destroyed the clubhouse and in 1917 another fire destroyed it's replacement.

1922

The new "fireproof" clubhouse, which still stands today, was opened on August 24, 1922. Since this was during Prohibition, it originally did not contain a bar, but did include bowling alleys, a complete kitchen and multiple dining rooms, a billiard room, men's and women's locker rooms, a smoking room and a 16-foot piazza extending the length of the building.

While the new clubhouse was under construction a renovation of the golf course was underway as well. Noted golf architect A.W. Tillinghast was engaged to redesign the course with a design including seven new holes (the present 11th - 17th), a revision of holes 2 - 4, and combined two old holes to form his 18th. Tillinghast's plans were completed in February of 1922 and opened in May of 1924.

On September 23, 1925, SGC introduced its first Kiltie Day, 36 holes with the members clad in "kilts and caps of Caledonian aspect."

Although today's winter activities are largely encompassed by bowling and paddle tennis, SGC has a storied past of outdoor winter fun that included their very own ice hockey team.

In the early years SGC club life was very active during the winter. The "Scarsdale Snowbirds" braved the elements each week on the course, and families enjoying the ski tow at the 11th hole that allowed for skiing and sledding.

For years the Club held an annual Children's Winter Carnival as well as an Annual Family Sledding Night.

SGC's first pool was opened in 1954.

1976
1976

The Club further expanded in the 1960s & '70s, adding a third tennis court and two new paddle courts.

1999

In our effort to be continually offering our members the finest facilities, we renovated the Men's Locker Rooms and expanded the 18th Terrace in 1999.

2012

In 2012 we opened the doors to our completely renovated North Complex which houses the Golf Shop, Bag Storage, Cart Storage, Caddie Room and Office, Ladies Locker Rooms and Midway Cafe.

2019
2019

SGC member, Brandon Wu, places second among amateurs at the US Open. He famously skipped his Stanford graduation ceremony to play the final round at Pebble Beach and received his diploma on the 18th hole when he had finished playing. Brandon made is pro debut in September 2019.
